I guess I can share my news with you all now. Wiley Publishing is seeking out author candidates for a new book about Blogger. An acquisitions editor, from Dummies Technology contacted me in March and asked if I would be interested in submitting a proposal. I wasn’t sure if I was knowledgeable enough on Google’s Blogger to write a book, but I thought what the heck and submitted my proposal to them.

On May 7th I received an email that stated my proposal was very good and that they enjoyed reading it and that they had no doubt that I could do a great job with the book, but another author who was also very qualified had a better platform with which to promote the book.

I’m not upset at all. Part of me was a little disappointed and part of me was relived. I believe that I would have done a great job writing the book, but then there is that little bit of doubt in the back of my mind that says “Rose what are you getting yourself into?”

I’m flattered I was asked to submit a proposal to a traditional publisher like Wiley and that they felt that I would of did a good job with the book. Rejection is part of every writer’s life, and though I was rejected for this book, I am motivated enough to in future submit more proposals.

Speaking of Zwick’s Park, the Tragically Hip will be playing at East Zwick’s Park on June 21. Tickets for the concert are $49.50 each and available at ticketmaster.com. The other performers that will be playing will be Sam Roberts, Sarah Harmer and Attack in Black. It sounds like it is going to be a great concert, but I won’t be attending.

On Saturday, hubby drove me out to the cemetery and we took my mom some marigolds. We figure it would be a good flower for the cemetery as they don’t require much care and my mom always liked marigolds.

On Sunday morning hubby and the children prepared a nice Sunday brunch of Belgian waffles. They then gave me my Mother’s Day gifts and hubby, my son and I all went for a lovely Sunday drive. This time we drove to Stirling, Ont and then on through to Foxboro before coming home.

Leaving Stirling we stopped along the side of the rode to take some photos of the horses. This horse appears to be posing for the camera.

Then it was off to Frankford with a stop at the Frankford Tourist Park for some play time. I’m a big kid.

The seagulls have landed.

The male mallard duck was getting a little upset that I was too close to his family. I was almost in reach of them.

Sunday evening, Shawn and my son cooked me a very nice dinner and then we watched a few hours of friends on dvd.

Mother’s Day can be a very lonely time for those of us who celebrate the day without our mother. Shawn and the children made sure I had a nice Mother’s Day. If you spent Mother’s Day without your mom this year I hope you took some moments out to do something special to help you through the day.
