How to prevent search engines from indexing your images
If you don’t want the images on your blog to appear in Google, and other search engines, you can block the robots from indexing them.
How do you remove a picture from Google images?
If you do not want your images indexed by Google, place the following in your robots.tx file.
User-agent: Googlebot-Image
Disallow: /
How to remove your copyrighted images from Yahoo
To disallow Yahoo!’s image crawler from accessing your image files add
User-agent: Yahoo-MMCrawler
Disallow: /
Picsearch
Picsearch indexes images from the web. To avoid being index include the following in your robots.txt file.
User-agent: psbot
Disallow: /
Msn
To prevent MSN from indexing your images include the following in your robot.txt file.
User-agent: msnbot
Disallow: /*.jpg$
Disallow: /*.jpeg$
Disallow: /*.gif$
Disallow: /*.png$
To disallows all robots (User-agents) access to the images directory use the following.
User-agent: *
Disallow: /images
Check to see if your images appear on Google Image Search
To see if your images are being indexed by Google- go to Google and click on images. Type the following into the search bar
site:yourblogaddress.com
This query will filter only the results coming from your site.
Unfortunately if your blog is hosted on Blogger, you cannot edit your robots.txt file.
