Are you currently using Google Webmaster Tools?
Google Webmaster Tools is a handy tool that can assist you in addressing any indexing issues that Google may be having with your blog.
Web crawl errors
Opening Google Webmaster Tools I noticed that my blog had 21 404 not found errors. (Eek)
Finding your 404 Pages within Google Webmaster Tools
Log into your Google Webmaster Tools account.
On the left hand menu, click “Diagnostics.”
Select “Crawl Errors.”
Here you’ll find issues Google encountered when crawling your site.
Click on “not found.”
If you have a lot of URL’s that are not found, you should redirect them to the front page.
I’ll tell you how to do this in my next post.

Next to each of the URL’s you will see a number under the “Linked From.”
Example: 8 Pages.
Click this link.
This will show you all the pages that linked to that URL on your site.
You may want to contact some of the webmasters/ bloggers who linked to the page and request they update or remove the link.
That’s all there is to it.

Great reminder to bloggers about a Google tool that few realize exists and can help them.

That’s great. I deleted a bunch of posts a while back. That was why I had so many.
