Social media websites like Twitter, Stumbleupon.com, and Digg are growing in popularity. Promotion through social media sites is an effective way in generating traffic to your blog.
Now you can find out just how popular your blog is on social media websites with some handy social media backlink checker tools.
These tools are useful in checking a blog’s popularity among well known social sites.
1.Back Tweets:backtweets.com- Back Tweet searches all links from Twitter to your blog.
2.Blog Grader: Blog Grader is an online tool and ranking system that measures the effectiveness of a blog.
3. Popuri.us- A tool to check at-a-glance the link popularity of any site based on its ranking (Google PageRank, Alexa Rank, Technorati etc.
4. Quarkbase “Social Popularity” tab hows you information about a website’s popularity among social media sites like Digg, Stumbleupon, and Delicious. Quarkbase gives you a nice analysis of how many Twitter tweets their have been about your site.
Checking your incoming links through these services gives you a wider scope of what links are pointing to you blog.

StumbleUpon was the one that always had me confused (actually it still does). I mean one day my traffic was going through the roof and I knew it was coming from SU. So when I clicked the link in my stats it just took me to a page where they try to sell your their advertising package. If you ask me I think this should be considered spam. But I guess they got some kind of deal with Google or something so it’s not. LOL
Then Kristie from Kikolani.com told me that I needed to install the SU toolbar and click the info button to see who Stumbled the post. So now I’m thinking ULTRA spam right?? But I did it anyway (like I needed another tool bar) and found out that it was a total stranger and that all of the new traffic left just as fast as it came….
Well at least it helped me solve the mystery of SU and it also helped me decide not to waste my time on it anymore.
Thanks for these links. I used Blog Grader before but the others are new to me.

I gave Blog Grader a go and it said I had a PR4 blog which is wrong so I’m not sure if the other stats are correct.
Still it was a fun exercise.

It was accurate in listing my PR. Just checked yours and it does say a 4. I wonder why that is.

Interesting stats. Blog Grader is informative. Google page rank 2, grader gives me 33/100. I need work. But this blog/journal is fairly new yet so might not be too bad. I’ll have to check in another month. Thanks for the info!
