It’s 2009 and parents are eating placentas and turning placentas into one-of-a-kind teddy bears. I kid you not!

How can you turn your placenta into a teddy bear?

Toy designer Alex Green has created the “Twin Teddy Kit.”

“The kit “enables preparation of the placenta so that it may be transformed into a teddy bear.

The placenta must be cut in half and rubbed with sea salt to cure it. After it is dried out, it is treated with an emulsifying mixture of tannin and egg yolk to make it soft and pliable.”

Sounds like an easy craft! (Said with sarcasm.)

According to Inhabitot, the Placenta Teddy Bear is an alternative to eating the baby’s placenta.

It would certainly be an unusual baby shower gift for an expectant mother.

Nurse please don’t dispose of my placenta. I want to turn it into a teddy-bear.
