What a beautiful poem. I'm 64, disabled and alone. My daughter pretty much runs my life with my authority. I don't remember things sometimes and I take quite a lot of medications. Because She is ill I don't see her much but we do talk on the phone.

We had this discussion recently. Even though she says I'm not a burden I still can't help feeling like one.

I love her very much and appreciate everything she does for me.

Rose, what a beautiful post. I am trembling as I write this, as I was just now, before sitting down to read, thinking about our impermanence in the world and how we forget we are indeed mortal. I am signing off now, and calling my mother, who I am so blessed to have with me still. Thank you for this....
