My Fall on Stairs

November 13th, 2008 by Rose DesRochers · 7 Comments

Monday evening the back outdoor stairs were slippery, because of the evening dew. My foot slipped out from under me on the first step, and I fell down the stairs with puppy in arms. Thankfully she wasn’t hurt. I bruised my elbow and I have a huge bruise on my thigh.

As soon as hubby and the children heard me groaning, and the puppy yelping they came running. Shawn took the puppy from me and helped me to my feet.

Today the pain feels better then on Monday night, but the bruise looks gross.

Not the greatest picture, but you can kind of see that it is pretty big.

If you liked this post, why not buy me a coffee?

    Ouch! Hope it heals fast!

I’ve taken a couple of spills this year, both times on hiking trails at state parks in the Boston Mountains. Once was because I was focused on my photography instead of my footing. The other was because the soles of my shoes were too smooth for the terrain. On the first one, I had a pretty nasty gash and probably should have gotten stitches, but it had stopped bleeding by the time we got to the car, so I machoed through it. Now I’ve got another “interesting scar.

Take care of yourself, Rose! Falls are really scary. I’m glad puppy is okay also.

As long as the puppy is unhurt, you can live with a bruise. Glad you’re both in…uh…two pieces.

Ooh, sounds painful, but could have been a lot worse! If your like me Rose, you will have tried to save the puppy before yourself!

    Take care.

Ouch! That bruise will be beautiful in a few days (well, I guess ‘beautiful’ is relative).

My sister used to use bruise colors for a lot of her paintings. Mostly for skies (sunset, sunrise) but also for backgrounds. She painted me a beautiful backdrop for my old studio that was based on a bruise my husband got at work.

Hope you feel better, and I’m glad you or the puppy weren’t seriously hurt.
