I was almost always a princess of some kind when I was a kid, and as I got older, I simply used my costumes from the renaissance faires my family and I go to. My daughters pretty much do the same thing. I bought them little fairy wings so they're going as the fairies from Sleeping Beauty. Too cure.

I love Halloween mainly because of the really cute kids costumes.

Well this one wasn't from when I was a child, but for a few years I dressed as a mummy. It was actually pretty cool. I was wrapped completely except for my mouth and eyes. Picture the old mummy movies with the mummy that walks dragging one leg and you can get an idea of what it looked like. I still have all the long strips used for the costume. Who knows? Maybe I will go for it again one year, lol.

(Tip for someone who might want to try this. Make it in sections by attaching long bandage type strips to white long underwear. Get a larger size if you need to wear it over other clothing. The white of the underwear will minimize any gaps that may develop. Cover you shoes with large white socks that you plan to throw away later. As with most costumes, try to think of ways to make it so that it is comfortable to wear, not too constricting to your movements, and will stay in place so you aren't having to constantly adjust it.)
