If you have been blogging for a while you’ve most likely run across the term “A-list” blogger. You might have even come across the term “Alpha Blogger”, which is define as “a very popular, widely read blog.”
If you read my post “Are You an A-List Bloglebrity?“, then you know that I’m a B-list bloglebrity according to kineda.com. Who came up with the word bloglebrity anyhow? I have yet to reach that ‘A’ status. (500 or more blogs linking to you in the last six months.)
It is all about the amount of link love that you that can score. ( Link love- defined as posting a link to sites that you enjoy.) It’s really just some huge popularity contest. I could care less about becoming an A-list Blogger. I was never popular in school, so why should I care if I’m popular now?
Blogging is for fun in my opinion and it doesn’t really matter if you’re an A-list Blogger or a C-list. What matters is that you have fun blogging. What matters is how you have been able to affect someone’s life through your writing and your blog. So if you’re on the C-list or you loose in a blog-fight, don’t that discourage you from blogging.

a link—-a linka do (oh my gowd I’m flashing on a Jimmy Durante bit!!)—wow 500 links in one month—–thats astronomical, —unreal—but WAIT, I can see how it might happen—it would take some time—one would have to do something totally outragous, like maybe flash the Academy awards, get caught and do a media interview—-that might get ya enuf attention to get 500 links—-so it IS doable—-I agree with ya, that would not be any fun to try and maintain—-still I get a real thrill outta finding a total stranger likes my blog well enough to link to it—-and whats the word—-one born every minute—–hello everybody MY names Gary—Whats YOURS??—-(hey it worked for gypsy)

Gary, what would you know- You are on the C list. That is pretty darn good for a newbie. You have had 11 links in the last 180 days. I just added another link, so maybe we’ll be seeing your rise to fame soon?

Meh … I don’t buy into all that. The number of links is not a reflection of how good your blog is. You’re right, it’s about how much fun you’re having. Altho, I find very well written and witty blogs every day … most are rarely visited. Those are A list as far as I’m concerned. Content is king, not link numbers.

Found this on your sidebar. ( I guess all these widgets and gadgets folks add to their blogs do have some impact) Anyway, as much as I put up the tough front, I will admit having people stop by does help to reinforce my reason for blogging. But having blogged in absolute obscurity for a couple of years at least, I know if suddenly the visits stopped, I would still write. I always have, always will. I am afterall my own best fan.

Rose, I have always believed that one should blog just for the love of it ! Once the fun is gone, instead of a blog, you’re left with a blahg!- Nards
