We stopped going to the festival because it is boring. Cobourg's Canada Day event is much more interesting and entertaining. If we want great ethnic food and clothing and other items there's always the GO train out of Oshawa and the Spadina streetcar. Well worth the money.

BTW where is the waterfront in the Waterfront Festival? For a city located on both a bay and a river with amazing public access it is missing an opportunity to put on the map e.g. with Dragon Boat races (caught those in Toronto), river raft races, shore-to-shore bathtub competitions, etc. These won't cost taxpayers money because there are no shortage of sponsors for such events. There is, however, a shortage of imagination, which seems to be a chronic condition here.

Love the pics. Fairs and festivals are almost always expensive to attend. We spend a small fortune taking my boyfriend's son to the Fryeburg fair every year. But he enjoys it and we usually have fun too.

This all reminds me of the apple festival my son begged to attend every year. The parade sucked, the fair sucked, the food was okay (we are talking red neck America here, corn on the cob and the beer tent the main attraction), and the prices steep/

My son enjoyed himself every year, and I thought it was a waste of my time--too hot and too expensive :)

Great pictures.

We gave my son $35.00, so he could go enjoy himself with a friend who is moving out of town. It was about time the kid actually got out with friends. lol

( I don't worry about spoiling him seeing how he never asks us for money and works his butt off.)

It cost $25.00 for a one price wrist band to ride all the rides at the midway and the $10.00 was for dinner.

The only thing that was free was the entertainment, balloons and face painting.

Good post as these things go---enjoyed the pics, and made a mental note to not lose sleep that I missed the whole shebang---made a mental note to, if ever offerred Thai Elephant ears food wise to politely decline----up til now would have fallen into that trap outta total ignorance. (I owe ya for that knowledge). So you gave you son #35 bucks to go see what was basically free-----don't ya worry about spoiling him?
