As someone who is now an adult but was forced to spend many years under the thumbs of a couple of morons, I'd like to see more kids do this! I've considered suing my mom, but guilt got the best of me. She tried, and I love her. But at the same time I feel I have a responsibility to society to set an example against ageism, so I also feel guilty not suing her.

some say the whole problem with kids today is that they have been patted on the head and told how great they are all their lives. they actually believe they are superior---the problem is, they can't make any decisions, unless there is a gold star to be won, and of course it has to be granted immediately---what was that old maxim, oooh yeah, "spare the rod, spoil the child"----well there ya have it----film at eleven.

What is the world coming to?
This is absolutely ridiculous. It goes to show that the youth of today have little or no respect for anyone in authority.
Just today our next door neighbour was telling us about how her daughter had been thrown out of class for being disruptive, and then laughed in the teachers face. And she's only 6 years old!!!

I'm not sure which person is the most unstable:

- the mom who encouraged (and likely provided the funds to) the girl to go to court.
- the judge who took this case seriously.
- or the father who will invest time, money and energy in _appealing_ the decision. The result of which might even be heard after the field trip materializes.

The only people who came out winners are the lawyers.

I don't know what to say. The world is going to hell in a handbasket!

I wrote a comment a while back on a site that promoted this type of behavior (don't spank), out of frustration at where all these little things are going that was not well received by the people that frequented the site. (I forget which site at this point)

The point here, is it should be obvious (as I feel you correctly stated in your post) where all this is heading. Yet, will things change direction? Hopefully, but I don't have much hope for it changing.

I was invincible when I was younger, but I was taught to own up to my own actions. I don't see that happening these days, and it scares me.
