Today we went for our usual Sunday drive. This time we ended up in Picton, Ontario. Picton, Ontario is in Prince Edward County, situated on the banks of Lake Ontario. The population of Picton is 3,983. Picton is about two and a half hours east of Toronto and once was home to Sir John A. MacDonald. Of course I have photos to share with all of you.

What a spectacular view of Picton bay.

That would be the Essroc cement plant in the distance.
We made a stop at Iron Works ( Iron World – ironworld.ca) in Picton. They sell imported cast-iron fencing, garden accents, fountains, and birdbaths.
Grape Lady

She’s carved out of flesh-toned marble and retails for $8999.00.
The following photos are courtesy of Digital Frenzy.

The Marble Gypsy retails for $4900.00.

The Picton War Memorial was originally constructed in 1920.
I would have had more pictures, but what would you know our camera needed a recharge. Thankfully my son brought his camera along too. It lasted a few min longer than ours before needing a recharge.
Note to self: Tell hubby to recharge camera battery, before our next Sunday drive.
If you’re ever looking to get away for the Summer, Picton has some really nice lake-side cottages for rent.
If you liked this post, why not buy me a coffee?

Picton’s a great place. That’s what I love about Ontario … those Sunday drives! We used to do that all the time when I was a kid.
When we moved to New Brunswick … you could drive for hours and still see the woods! No town!
