Shocking. It’s really incredible. At the same time, I know I have students who have more sexual experience than I have. Kids today don’t hold out for love or romance. I’m still hoping to meet the right guy and date awhile first. Some people get amd at me because I don’t say I will wait until I get married anymore. Whatever. But 16? Even at 16 I’m not sure a kid REALLY knows what they are consenting to.

14 is way too young, and 16 isn’t much better. Still, way to go to all the people involved in changing the age to 16!

Still i think 16 is young.

In my country , India, This age is 18. Sex with someone under 18 is considered as Rape even with mutual consent with a 7 year prison term.

Higher the age, higher will be the level of maturity and sense of responsibility.

Honors to you and I am proud of your hand in changing the age of consent. This type of thing touches my heart as I was raped at 16 and molested by my brother for two years from the age of 14 thourgh 16 years of age. Of course in the 1950 and 60’s, the woman or child was for the most part made to be the one who encouraged this type of thing. My parents knew about the molestation, but never helped. I was made to blame, so when I was raped I was too afraid to say anything.

Now due to people like you changes are being made to help children and young teens. Bless you Rose.
