How to be insulting when promoting your blog
Recently on the “Blogger Help Group” someone was showing off their blog. They pointed out that those viewing their blog should laugh or they were retarded. Calling someone retarded is obvious an insult and saying someone is a retard just because they don’t see the humor in a blog is rude.
I personally did not see the humor in his blog, therefore I didn’t laugh. I’m sure that I have different taste in books and movies than him too. Does that make me a retard as he so insultingly put it?
I think not! When he felt his ego was crushed he proceeded to try his best at delivering an insult. His insult was of course poorly delivered as he picked out my grammatical and spelling flaws.
I know my spelling sucks. Please tell me something that I didn’t know.
Criticism doesn’t bother me. I’ve gotten use to people saying that I can’t spell. I’m very well aware my grammar isn’t perfect and “you can’t spell” is a typical internet insult. I’ve seen it in comments that people leave on forums and other blogs too.
Some people need some new material!
Did he really think that saying “I can’t spell” was going to insult me? He really could of did better. I’m so very disappointed that he could not come up with a much better way to insult me.
I’m also disappointed that he did not insult my looks. That is also a typical insult.
When you’re on the internet, writing a blog, you get use to people and those who feel the need to insult when they can’t argue their point.
Anyway, I still did not find the humor in his blog.
So, how was your day?
If you liked this post, why not buy me a coffee?

Interesting. A quick google and I found the thread. I had a look at his site too. Found it as funny as nothing too! I have to say though, I dont remember seeing much in the way of spelling mistakes in your posts? Of course, maybe I can’t spell either so it looks right!

i’d rather read a blog with something interesting to say and a few spelling errors than the lot of pompous idiots that crowd the internet tubes these days.
personal insults are used when people aren’t smart enough to get their head around the main issue at hand.
my day was stressful beyond belief thanks for axing. asking. a java chip frap made it a little better.

But I felt it as his cheeky way to get someone to read and notice his blog and laugh at what he thinks is funny! and then he almost got what he wanted….a comment and then he replied to your comment and you wrote about him in your blog! the best part is you didnt give a link to his blog! So, guess who won?!!! Dont let stuff like this bother you! Keep Smiling Rose!

The link to my site was an obvious joke well within the theme of the site. It’s tongue-in-cheek schoolyard “retard” humor. Obviously I’m not calling 100% of people who don’t like my work “retarded”. It was when you decided you’d call me out and criticize me that I fell in line and played along with you.
You are the one that decided that instead of not looking at a site you didn’t enjoy, you’d visit it frequently, and make a point of telling me how much you disliked it. I have you on SiteMeter as visiting my website 5 times in the last 24 hours. If you disliked it so greatly, maybe stop visiting it?
You instigated this situation by telling me how little you liked my blog. I didn’t attack you, you attacked me and I thought it funny to play this game with an illiterate mom.
I don’t mind people not liking my humor… but when you’re going to go out of your way to tell me it’s bad? Game on. Your mastery of the English language is non-existant, your blog is devoid of content, and you instigate fights with people on the internet.
I’m pretty sure that there’s a biological instance in women around 30 whereby all humor leaves them and they become naggy for the rest of ever. You just have a poor vocabulary to top it.
It’s so ironic that you’d call this “dealing with people” on the internet… when you’re the one who decided you’d criticize ME.

“I’ve gotten use to people saying that I can’t spell. I’m very well aware my grammar isn’t perfect …
Some people need some knew material!
Did he really think that saying “I can’t spell” was going to insult me? He really could of did better.”
So, tell me, because I want to know: are the spelling (knew for new) and grammar errors intentional for emphasis? If so, very funny. And if not, never mind.
“I’m also disappointed that he did not insult my looks. That is also a typical insult.”
Without trying to hit on you or something, I always thought you looked fine.

Roger, thanks for pointing out my error.
Sy, well I’m glad I’m not alone.
Robert, sorry to hear that.
Ananya , Thanks hun!
Brett, I never insulted you or criticized you. I simply said “I’m not laughing, so ????????” How is that an insult? Yet here you are insulting me once again. I was at your blog twice. Not five times. Yet you spent 30 mins 3 secs on my blog. Bye Bye!

Nobody can insult your looks, Rose.

Not sure where the humour is in his blog. Its not very apparent.
Had a look at the thread and I can’t find any attack on this jerk. Can’t see how he thinks you’re attacking him.

Good lord…bret seems to have taken it so seriously…blogging actually gurantees you the right to be yourself and create an identity for yourself! Without getting comments whether good or bad how do you improve! Just because I think my blog is cool, needn’t be that everyone thinks the same! Rose, no one can insult your looks! Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder! Once you think you are beautiful, noone can think other wise! that is from experience!

Positive works better than negative. At the very least, it gets you more positive feedback yourself! If you’re going to insult someone, I figure it’s best to do so with surgical precision — point out exactly what they did wrong and why they deserve to be ridiculed. Otherwise, why get mired in dirty politics? That’s my opinion.

Luke are you talking to Brett or I? I merely stated I did not see the humor in his blog. It is just like saying I didn’t find a joke funny.

He really said this, or is this a joke of some sort? I wonder why he would think that most women near 30 lose their humor? I’ve found a lot of things funny, thanks a bunch. That was a sour comment. I wonder how old this guy is.

He really did say that. I kid you not Devrie. According to his Blogger profile he is 25.

What the web giveth it taketh away. It’s quick and convenient, but with that comes that fact that people can be so impersonal. A faceless world is not an easy one to live in .
