As Ms Fitzgerald once said – “It isn’t where you came from, it’s where you’re going that counts.”
I just wanted to remind the blogosphere that today is “Inconvenience Yourself Day.” It is that one day of the year that you are reminded to go of your way to help another person. It is the day that you quit thinking about yourself and start thinking about other people’s lives. It is also a day to acknowledge those who inconvenience themselves for others. Today is the day that you put other’s concern ahead of yours.
I’m not a selfish person, as I put others before my needs, sometimes too much. Everyday is inconvenience yourself day for me. I’m aware that the world does not revolve around me, though I know many who think the world resolves around them. It is what they want and often they will put their wants before anyone else’s.
Quoting from the Inconvenience Yourself website “We often inconvenience other people to make our own lives easier and don’t give a thought to the impact of our actions on others.”
What are you going to inconvenience yourself with today in order to help someone you know, maybe even to help a complete stranger? I’m sure that we can all come up with special ideas for the day. I would love to hear yours and don’t forget to thank those who inconvenience themselves for other.
I hope that you will take today as a reminder to not inconvenience yourself today, but every day.
If you liked this post, why not buy me a coffee?

See, when you said it was inconvenience yourself day, I was heading along the lines of walk about with your shoe laces tied together or something. I never for one minute thought it was going to be about helping someone else.

Excellent reminder Rose. You find the most interesting things to blog about. I really can’t tell you enough how much I enjoy this blog. I wish I commented more so you knew that. Oh and I had a HUGE laugh the other day about the “I am tired and bored” spam. I’ve been getting that one in droves as well. LOL

I did my part, I let this idiot that pulled out in front of me go without giving him any sign language. Other than that, I have not done anything to inconvenience myself. The flu has done all of that for me.

Dwayne, come on! You can do better than that.
Paula, I’m glad to know you are lurking and reading.

Seriously, I do not consider the things I do a inconvenience. I have been a volunteer in the emergency services all of my life. I always put others need and help ahead of myself. At any given time of the day or night, I put aside what I am doing to help others in need, and I really love it. So not being able to flip someone the bird is about the only inconvenience that I have lol.

What did I do to help someone. Well, I…erm…hmmm…I told a lady at the airport where the toilets were. Does that count? Apart from that I was in a room with 2 other guys for the day and didnt see anyone else. And I do stuff for my wife everynight, so I cant count any of them things!
