Google- Call a Blogger with GrandCentral

February 25th, 2008 by Rose DesRochers · 7 Comments

Now you can receive phone calls and post voicemails right on your blog. Google’s blogging platform Blogger is being integrated with, Google’s GrandCentral.

(Blogger Buzz) With GrandCentral, a free service from Google, you can receive phone calls and post voicemails right on your blog.

When you add GrandCentral’s WebCall button to your blog, your readers can easily call your phone or leave voicemails without ever seeing your telephone number.

Hmm, I don’t think I would want strange visitors calling me. After all I get some pretty weird searches that lead to my blog.

You can screen calls, and you can even block unwanted callers altogether, but still. For those that want to try the service, you can get an account without an invitation. All you need is a Blogger account.

GrandCentral Signup through Blogger Invite

Note: Google is only offering invites to U.S. users through Blogger.

Anyone using GrandCentral?

If you liked this post, why not buy me a coffee?

Sounds like something I wouldn’t use, which is no problem since I am a Canadian and they don’t have it here yet.

I’m not what you’d call an early adopter. I’ll wait and see, but I’m initially disinclined, for the reasons you state.

Between Jan 25 and Feb 24 Google sent 142 here searching for manties. Now if some man wants to wear manties- ok fine. Whatever floats your boat, but I don’t want you calling me. Then again one of my relatives might be into manties and I would never know. (I don’t want to either)

Ps- I Don’t want the 32 people that came via a search for the masturbate-a-thon, the 17 searching for hoes and the 22 searching for vacuum cleaner sex calling me either.

I gotta say … not planning to sign up, whenever it becomes available here.

I couldn’t find your brain scan! That link didn’t work. I wanted to see if you had those bee hive things (or poop) like I had! LOL

Strange, it works just fine for me. Did you copy the full url?

The problem with Blogger or Google depending on how you look at it is that they aren’t fixing the bugs they have in Blogger already before introducing other things. They couldn’t even get the spell check working for a couple of weeks.

After all that, I dont know if it is something I would use though. But like most things, it might take off and be a success.

I get enough weirdo’s calling me as it is. So if anyone wants to get hung up on, then sure, call me.
