On the weekend hubby and I were conversing with friends about music from the past. We got talking about one hit wonders. For those of you who don’t know what a one hit wonder is, let me explain. A one hit wonder is an artist who is generally known for having only one hit single or an artist who never reached the top 10 again.
Who could forget one hit wonder songs like “Come On Eileen” by Dexys Midnight Runners, “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor, “Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin, “Rock me Amadeus” by Falco and “99 Luftballons” by Nena.
Ok, I’m showing my age here. What one hit wonder songs do you remember and what is your all-time favorite one hit wonder song?
They might be short lived songs, but we will never forget them.

I always thought it was Top 40, but anyway, Billy Swan – I Can Help. Went to #1. Is now in use as a commercial for Service Star.
Cool Jerk by The Capitols. Since used in a Cool Whip commercial.

Eye of the Tiger is a classic. Goldfinger also did a fantastic cover of “99 Red Balloons”.
Anyone remember Mambo No.5 ? lol
