Using OpenID for Blogger Comments

December 7th, 2007 by Rose DesRochers · 3 Comments

Blogger has removed the URL field from comments and introduced OpenID support to Blogger in Draft. This new feature is available by logging into Blogger in Draft and changing your settings under Settings/Comments. Phydeaux3 gives the code you can add to your Blogspot or Wordpress template so it can function as your OpenID url.

See Getting an OpenID. Now, if I choose any OpenID from the dropdown menu on blogs that have enabled OPen ID, I can put in http://rosedesrochers.todays-woman.net as the url and it will then show as the link to my name in the comment.

OpenID commenting

Add it to your blog and then try it out for yourself.
