We had some teen...older teens come by our house this year as well. My son who will be 10 in a few months thinks that this year will have been his last year as well. We'll see! He loves all the goodies.

Btw, Emerald, I have also never been trick-0r-treating.

Last year a kid in our area got given sweets that had been tampered with. The child was one of 3 and got really ill. After being taken to hospital they found that there were traces of drugs.

Luckily the child was the eldest of the 3. Had it been one of the younger two, the doctors said they would have died.

So, this year we decided to have a sort of "indoors" halloween party. Bought all the sweets and food ourselves, had some friends over and everyone had a really great time :)

I love halloween!!

I can not believe that somebody would hold a kid at gunpoint for candy. That shows how sad our world is.

Thanks mom for taking me out trick or treating!

I think that your son has it about right. Kids older than 12 or 13 should be interested in other things. I think I was probably about 12 the last time that I went.

We were in North Little Rock late afternoon on Halloween and there were a heck of lot of kids out on JFK Boulevard in costume. Most of the businesses had tables set up outside with treats and many of the employees were in costume as well. All of the major crossroads had police officers directing traffic and there was a very visible police presence along the whole route. We were just driving through on our way home, so we don't know what it was like later, but it already looked like some of the kids were making a very nice haul of candy.

Rose: Not all teens are bad, I agree. It's the ones that are that really ruin it for all of them. I really believe it's a product of bad parenting. I don't think any kids starts out bad. That is terrifying that a kid would rob another kid at gunpoint for candy!

Michael: I got a couple of pieces of candy from people like you while we were out. It's much appreciated! :)
