One of my regular blog readers Bob asked me how to embed a Youtube video on his blog hosted at Blogspot. If you are interested in learning how to do that please continue reading.
How to add a YouTube video to your post
First go to Youtube.com and find the video that you wish to embed. Look for the box directly to the right of the video. Go to the line marked Embed and copy the code from the box.

Now login to your blog and compose a new message. Click on Edit Html and paste in the code that you copied from YouTube.

It is important that you are on “Edit Html” and that you don’t switch back to the compose mode. Publish your post.

Click View Blog to see your video.
That was easy now wasn’t it?

You can also modify the attributes of the code, to both resize and modify the alignment of the viewer. I do this regularly just like regular pictures.
The key is to resize ONLY the “width” or “height” attribute, and delete the other one in the same line of code. By default, if you change the ‘width=”425″ ‘ to ‘width=”225″‘, the height is automatically adjusted.
This needs to be done in both HTML lines. Look close, and just make sure you use the same numbers in each one.
You can also use the ‘align’ attribute to shift the video to the right or left…’align=”right”‘ or ‘align=”left”‘. If your text is too close to the image, you can also use the HSPACE=”3″ and VSPACE=”3″ attributes…both add three pixels of space buffer vertically and horizontally.
