How safe is your lipstick?
Ladies, check your lipsticks. Tonight my son was watching the evening news and he told me about lipstick manufactured in the United States containing surprisingly high levels of lead.

I decided to Google it and sure enough I found that the FDA was to investigate reports on lead levels in lipstick. Lead has been found in a number of popular brands including (Cover Girl, L’Oréal and Christian Dior, to name a few.)
A full report on lipstick titled “A Poison Kiss: The Problem of Lead in Lipstick”, and complete test results, can be found at SafeCosmetics.org. The testing, was conducted by Bodycote Testing Group laboratory in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
I rarely wear makeup, but on occasion I do wear lipstick. Can you believe that some of the top name brands and expensive brands were found to contain lead according to this report?

Finally something I don’t have to worry about, don’t use much lipstick, why on earth would they put lead in lipstick? I thought it was illegal.

Luckily, I only wear Mattel brand lipstick manufactured in China.

I am glad I don’t like putting anything on my lips. I always worry about it when eating, on the end you end up eating the lipstick. Thanks for posting this useful info, I think I should pass it on to all other people. Anna
