Recently a blogger wanted to know if there was a way to embed a Tumblr blog into the sidebar of a Blogger blog.
For those who don’t know, Tumblr is a mini blog where you can share your favorite links, videos, quotes, photos etc
One way to embed Tumblr into a Blogger blog is to create a widget using Blidgets by Widgetbox.
How to Embed Tumblr into Blogger
- First go to Blidgets at Widgetbox.
- Enter the location of your Tumblr page.
- Next, click on “make widget.”
- On the following page customize your Blidget.
- Next select whether you wish to display headlines only or headlines and articles.
- If you wish to show the first image in each post place a checkmark in the box next to “Show the first image in each post.”
- Choose your blidget’s header style and details.
- Next add a title, caption and image.
- You can then choose to list your widget in the gallery or keep it unlisted.
Once you have created your Widget you will need to create an account at Widgetbox.
Once you create your account from there you will be able to add your widget to Blogger, Tyepad, MySpace and a number of other services.
- Next click on the “Get Widget.”

- This will pop up a window.
- Choose Blogger from the listed services.

- Click on “Add to Blogger.”
- Next – Click the “Install Panel” button to pop up the Blogger installer page.
- A new page will pop up allowing you to install the widget.
- Select your blog from the drop down menu if you have multiples blogs like I do.
- Click on “Add Widget.”
- Your Tubmlr Blog has now been added to Blogger.
You can of course add your RSS feeds by logging into Blogger, clicking on Layout – Add a Page Element – Choose Feed – Add to Blog and following the steps outlined. This option would not display the first image in every post though.
If you want to display the first image in every post then your best option would be to use Blidgets from Widgetbox.
I hoped you enjoyed this tutorial. Please feel free to Stumble it or link to it.

Good tutorial Rose. I’m not so experienced with Blogger and that widget site was a great find.

I was searching just what you say. But I supposed it was not free. So I read terms of service, and for making a personal widget they talk about money. Could you give me a reply?

Thanks for your help with this. I’ve been neglecting Tumblr cause it didn’t work well when I tried to add it to the sidebar before.
