According to Wordtracker the top search phrase for baby names is “cute baby names” followed by “unique baby names” and then unique baby girl names , unique baby boy names and uncommon baby names.
Well Cute baby names aren’t so cute once you are a grown adult. We can’t help but notice that celebrities have set the unique baby name trend. I can not imagine naming my children Moon Unit, Audio Science or Apple.
Unusual Celebrity Baby Names
- Jordan and Peter Andre named their baby daughter Princess Tiaamii - pronounced tee-ah-me.
- Frank Zappas named his daughter Moon Unit.
- Audio Science, son of Shannyn Sossamon and Dallas Clayton.
- Lil’ Mo daughters are named Heaven Love’on Stone and God’Iss Love.
- Calico Cooper daughter of Alice Cooper
- Clementine daughter of Cybill Shepherd
- Gwenyth Paltrow and Chris Martin named their daughter Apple.
- Heavenly Hirani Tiger Lily, daughter of Michael Hutchence and Paula Yates.
Celebrities are not the only ones who name their children some unusual names. In China, a Chinese couple tried to name their baby “@.”
In Caracas, Venezuela if you are thinking on naming your baby Hersony, Nohemar — or even Superman such names may be turned down reports FoxNews.
Authorities in New Zealand blocked a couple from naming their new son “4real.”
Do you know anyone with an unusual name?

“Apple” is quite a cute name for a baby. It’s probably the best one out of the list. When she is older, her name wont matter because she will be rich and in the public eye etc.
If the name is a problem I guess they can always change it when they are older. I imagine thats what the celebrities think. Or they just think of the profits of getting in the news and releasing their story to magazines.
The “@” thing is a little strange. I imagine they are computer geeks!
I thought “Merlin” would be funky for a little boy. But yes, hmm, good job I didn’t go with it. hehe

A friend of mine told me about the name Shithead (the parents pronounced it shi-theed). My friend was calling roll in her elementary class and nearly had a heart attack when she saw the little girl’s name. True story!
I used to work in a school admissions office and I’ve heard of all sorts of unusual names. Some of them were really nice, but others (like Shithead) are just a little too far out there. At least change the spelling!

LOL.. I have also heard of the name Shithead.
I wanted to name Walter “Ripley” after Ripley’s Believe It Or Not but the family nixed that idea. I was completely serious about it.. because he was so unexpected.
