“A Rose is a Rose” sung by Susan Ashton is a beautiful song and reminder that there will always be someone around who will put you down and degrade you if you allow them to.

I believe that it was Les Brown who said “ Other people’s opinion of you does not have to become your reality. ” How true! Remember that you are in control of your life.
Hopefully you’ll be able to hear the song. You may need to install the player in order to listen to “A Rose is A Rose”, but the song is truly beautiful.
What about you? Do you believe in yourself? Do you give yourself the credit you deserve?

Oh Rose this is a beautiful song! I have goosebumps.
Since you asked, I’m happy to share this with you.
One day when thinking about how to make my life what I want it to be and all the insubstantial things standing in my way. I asked myself one question: Who wins if I hide my self away and never take any of the risks I dream of?
The answer was no one.
I don’t know if I believe in myself 100% of the time, but when I think of the alternative to not trying? That fear motivates me to be braver than I feel.
The more things I accomplish, the more I believe in myself. Its a self propelled sort of concept I guess.
Thank you Rose for being Rose.

I wanted to share this story and found a version at writing.com/main/books/entry_id/415484 .
Here is the basic story:
“I heard a story about getting ahead in life, breaking out of the box so to speak. The analogy used was catching crabs. Crab fishermen put food in a box and lower it into the water. Soon a crab swims into the box and starts eating the bait. In time he is joined by others until the box is full of crabs eating the bait. When all the bait was eaten they remained in the box. One crab decided to leave and started to crawl out, but when the other crabs saw it they grabbed him and pulled him back down.
After awhile he attempted to leave again. This time the other crabs pulled him back down and broke off one of his limbs to teach him a lesson.
A third attempt was made. The crabs pulled him back down, and they killed him.
The writer of the story said this at the end. “The only difference between crabs and people is that crabs live in the water.”"
