Russell Tavares got into an Online feud with John G. Anderson in October 2005.

Anderson aka “Johnny Darkness” aka “GrandGoblin” and Russell Tavares aka “PyroDice” aka “illpackapistol” were trading insults over the internet when Tavares got mad, hopped into car and drove 1300 miles from from Virginia to Texas to burn down John Anderson’s trailer.

“Investigators say Tavares boiled over when Anderson called him a nerd and posted a digitally altered photo making Tavares look like a skinny boy in high-water pants, holding a gun and a laptop under a “Revenge of the Nerds” sign.”

Russel Tavares was sentenced to seven years in prison on Thursday July 26th after pleading no contest to arson and admitting he set the blaze to John G. Anderson’s trailer.

Can you believe this all started over an internet squabble. How bizarre and frightening is that?
