A huge power outage on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 in downtown San Francisco shut down websites nation wide. Big sites like Technorati, LiveJournal, TypePad, Cnet and Craigslist, were all affected by the outage.
Derek Gordon vice president of marketing for Technorati reports that they are working to assess why it’s back-up power generators failed to provide back-up power to prevent the website from going down.
Mean while some bloggers are reporting that Technorati is not updating their latest posts. I don’t appear to be having any issues. What about you?

My techonorati has not been pinging properly since
yesterday. Who knew I’d come here and find out why? Thank you, Rose…
I thought I was just confusing the site feed stuff by keeping my latest post as the front page to my site I actually dated it December 31 2007 so it would stay on top. I don’t know how that affects people who take rss feeds from it… any ideas?

I haven’t checked, but I was having trouble with getting Blogger blogs yesterday, but mostly this morning, many time out before they can load, even happened on blogger.com.
