Each time you update your blog you should let the services like technorati, weblogs, google blog search and my.yahoo know that your blog has been updated. You do this by sending a PING to the service.
I use a free pinging service called Pingoat.com after each post to my blog. Pingoat notifies over 50 sites. Their list includes non-English services as well.
There are other pinging services that you can like Ping-O-Matic which pings 20 sites or King Ping which pings 53 web services for you.
While services like Pingoat are great they don’t ping all the services you need to syndicate your blog to.
Here is a list of ping services that you can add into your Wordpress ping list.

So, does this mean I should use more than one service? Wouldn’t I have to keep up with who was pinged so I wouldn’t ping the same place twice? I really like pingmore but I’d also like to ping more if possible.
Thanks for the info.

Good advice. I’ve got three blogs submitted to Technorati, and do the ping thing with all three when they’re updated.
Two of the blogs get updated after getting pinged.
The third hasn’t been updated in – almost two weeks now. And it gets updated daily, or more, on average.
It’s also the one with potentially controversial content.
Not that I’m the suspicious type, but that’s an interesting coincidence.
Or, maybe there’s some arcane technical explanation.

I just use the “ping my blog!” feature on Blog Explosion (you need to be a member tho)

I appreciated your visit to my blog.
Thanks much Rose! I will ping from now on using KingPing. I like the idea of 53 sites getting pinged everytime I update my blog.
Great post.
Nice blog.
Please keep right on blogging.
