Twice today I have been asked how one can go about increasing their Technorati rank and links. Before I get started for those who might be asking “what is Technorati,” Technorati is an Internet search engine for searching blogs.
As of July 2007, Technorati is currently tracking 90 million blogs. If you have not signed up yet, I recommend going to the Technoarti Sign up page, signing up and claiming your blog. Once you have claimed your blog you will get a “rank”. Part of your rank depends on how many other blogs are linking to your blog.
How do you increase Technorati rating and links?
- You can increase your incoming links by writing things that other bloggers will want to link to. The more blogs linking to your blog, the higher your ranking with Technorati will be.
- Tag your posts. If you’re using Wordpress the simpletags plugin allows you to create a list of Technorati tags at the bottom of your post. If you’re wondering what some of the popular tags are, why not check out the Technorati Tag Cloud. The tags are sized according to their popularity. It may be best to use a tag that is less popular because it means less competition.
- Ping Technorati each time you make a post.
Technorati can bring your blog a fair amount of traffic. While Technorati popularity isn’t everything, it’s worth trying some of these Technorati tips if you are a D list Blogger who is looking to move to a B. Remember the larger the “authority” and the lower the “rank” the better. The higher the authority, the closer you are to getting on Technorati’s top 100.
Did you like this post? Why not link to it on your blog and help your readership increase their Technorati ranking.

I totally agree with what you said in this post. This is a great read for bloggers. Although if I may add, it would be better for bloggers to use pingoat.com or pingomatic.com to be more efficient.
Good luck to your blogging.

Bloggingmix, with pingoat it sometimes reports back “connection failed.” WordPress includes automatic pinging through Ping-o-Matic, but you can do it manually as I recommended. Sometimes that is the best option as most times Technorati doesn’t get pinged from Wordpress. Thanks for visiting.

what you write here are the best practices for all blogger commonly the new created blog. I do ping technocrati automatically with the code inserted into the blog head. Automatically updated and don’t have to do technocrati.com/ping/ every time.

Rose, he no longer has the Technorati tool, they asked him to remove it. This is an informative post though.
