Accept Me

June 20th, 2007 by Rose DesRochers · 7 Comments

One can change their own opinion, but they can not always change other people’s opinion.

Accept me as I am. If you cannot accept me as I am then don’t put me down in front of others. Do not try to make me feel unworthy of love. I know who I am. I never once claimed to be perfect. I have faults just like you. If God can accept me, why can’t you? Why do you feel this need to try to change people’s opinion of me? I am who I am. Can you not just accept that? Call me crazy; say that I’m no good. I know who I am. I’ll never be the person that you want me to be. For I am me and if that is not good enough for you then maybe you have set your standards too high. I’m writing this in hopes that you can see that I’m me. Kindly accept me as I am. If you cannot then please accept that you cannot change me. I am who I am and that is good enough for me. It’s good enough for those who love me. – By Rose DesRochers

“God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change courage to change the things we can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

Well, its a world of choices.. We can only let others choose what they think is best… the regret they experience if they havent made the right choice is their headache.

Rose, your words and the video inspired me, I wrote on them. Acceptance is a big step for a lot of people.
    Hang in there.

Marcia. thank you. You made my day. It is such a wonderful feeling when our words and thoughts inspire other people. I was sitting here thinking the other day about why some can not accept me as I am. Why they feel it is their job to make me live up to their standards. I’m having a hard time understanding this, but I’m working through that.

Hi there Rose, I was just taking some time out to visit some of my favorite blogs when I came across this entry. I am really sorry you’ve been experiencing whatever it was that prompted this entry. I hope July’s been better to you than June and you get the appreciation and good tidings you deserve, which is of course nothing but the best.

    Take care,
    Hazel.
