MyLot.com describes itself as a unique and fun online community filled with members from all over the world discussing topics of everyday life. Their objective is to offer members a place to interact with others and to discuss the many different topics of everyday life in a self-regulated network. For those that don’t know, Mylot.com pays money for simply posting on their site. What many don’t know is that there is an even darker side to the popular website Mylot.com.
There is an elite group made up of certain individuals, which appear to think that they are above the guidelines and Mylot plays favorites to them. Could it because one of the moderators himself (Sksouth) is the leader of this elite group.
The moderator’s friends use foul and abusive language toward other members, and when these users are reported for violating the guidelines Mylot does not take action against them. It has been brought to Mylot’s attention that they have been harassing, being rude and flaming other users in posts on several occasions. If a person replies to the elite group’s attacks Mylot warns the one being flamed that if they continue their account will be removed.
The elite group has two sites and a chat room where they go to talk about the members of Mylot and play their little negative rating game.

Some users have had to close their accounts at mylot and join under an anonymous identity, because of the abuse from the elite group. One user said “I changed my account specifically because of that group at MyLot who loves to attack and make fun of folks, like me for instance.”
There is so much that people do like about the site Mylot, but because of this group of individuals they are unable to enjoy the site and just be themselves. Many members are afraid of this elite group.
Many users have been banned at Mylot unfairly with no explanation and the sad thing is they loose any earnings that were in their account at the time of being banned.
One user said “I have seen the elite people who think that they are above everyone. I have wondered why they didn’t seem to get knock down like everyone else. It is true a lot do getting with this type of stuff and the other people are the ones who seem to pay for it in the end and they don’t. ”
It is definitely true that the popular website Mylot.com does play favorites and some users are untouchable.
One user said, “This group is very good at twisting words and causing the victim to look guilty. There is so much evidence of that all over the place, but it gets deleted easily, so people do not see it. Just like the one where a couple of your posts got deleted. It looks like you came in and cussed them out when it may be nothing and they got it deleted just to make you look bad.”
That too is true. They are very good at twisting words, selective reading, and putting words in ones mouth. What they are doing is group-baiting where they wait for one person to post and then the group of them pounce.
One Mylot member had this to say regarding the flaming I received.
“I saw all the harassment you suffered on those posts. I don’t know what I can do to help, I tried to stand up for you that night I was on and they were being so ugly to you.”
To the elite group, they will never admit that they group bait and attack users. They will never admit to having minus parties or trying to get people that they don’t like banned.
One user states, “I am hoping if we can get enough people to address Mylot admin and their sponsors about those people, someone will put a stop to it and we can enjoy Mylot. There is so much I love about the site and I have or had so many friends there!”
Sadly as long as Mylot.com has moderators like SKSouth it will not be enough to address Mylot administrators and many users will continue to be the subject of abuse from the elite group and will either have to remain quite and take the abuse or speak out and have their accounts deleted along with their earnings.
In the end, I guess you have wonder if the few cents if really worth the abuse received from this group. In the three months I was at Mylot I made thirty one dollars and 1344 posts.
I could have made more money online doing other things and would not have had to deal with the biased nature of a website that claims to be a fair fun online community for all.

Well said and deserves to be said again and again and again until ‘the powers’ that be pay attention and the abuse is stopped. I have my own issues with this group and even though they have put me ‘on the blue bus to banned camp’ (SKSouth, endquote) they continue to harrass and publish libelous comments about me and mine. Shame I say – shame – that the admin of mylot allows – yea, even encourages, this kind of abuse because they don’t exercise proper moderation of these “cancer cells”.

Very well done Rose, and unfortunately the truth. myLot has a terrific format and draws a lot of good people, more and more of whom have noticed and been posting about “myLot gangs” and such.
Perhaps they can get rid of abusive mods and make it fun again.

You should print this and mail it to the Mylot office in Kansas (registered mail). There are many of us just waiting for the next payout so we can quit the site and move on to nicer places. I do like the format but not the gangs that attack and ruin good discussions. Nice article, Rose.

A note I forgot to add: this group also indulges in “tagging abuse” — they place abusive tagging and also off-topic keywords as a signal to come help harass the user.
I am not sure advertisers know about this but soon they will.

Suzy, I know all about the tagging abuse. I believe it was riptide who tagged my news article on squirrels attacking in Germany with “rose runs over squirrels.”

Thank you to those that replied. I just want to state for the record I respect people pointing out problems when they have no agenda, or no hidden motives.
In this post I shared my experience as a Mylot user and what I witnessed the short time I was there. I did not make the post to get back at anyone, or because of some vendetta.
I have no axe to grind with these users. I stated my opinion and that is where the chapter closes.
I would like mylot to of course to reinstate my account, so I could have the option of deleting it myself. They took that option from me when they suspended me, but I would not post there as a user, not unless they changed their guidlines to be fair to all users.
If you would like to share your experience as a mylot user go right ahead.

The only pbjectional posts made in that thread were under one users response. The same person that bragged about trouble making and not getting her bait taken. (I am not a fish or a sheep!) the posts was deleted *in my opinion* to hide those comments and that response. I still have all the responses and comments in my e-mail. I do not have a copy of the original article. If one of you have a copy of it I would love to have it. I am going to ask that it be reinstated WITHOUT the posts made under this one user. I want to do it right though and send them every response as well as the topic. AND the screen shots above as proof that it was baiting. I did not start it to get then going. I started it because I have been victimized by bullies in my life. To me they act as a gang. If I was directing at these peoples activities, I would have called it mylot gangs, oh wait there is one named that and I do believe that one is about them as well.

Great Post! I was surprised to see Tammy’s discussion deleted. Nice things were actually said about SK and it still got deleted. Probably because they know what was posted about them was absolutely true and their puny little consciences couldn’t handle it! The “gang” can’t risk having their true nature revealed.

MyLot has a lot of wonderful people, but as with any public forum, there will be some people who aren’t so nice and like to hurt others. That’s a shame and sometimes we just have to ignore those types of people and focus on the good ones.
I hope you come back to MyLot, Rose! I miss you there.

My experience is too long to relate unless/until I do it in my own blog. Most recently I had nothing to do with this group until my friend had her email published and was accused of a crime. Having seen evidence and heard from former mlpd about their scheming and threats at My Lot Bites, for that person to do that was hypocrisy at its height. And for a moderator to be up to his neck in it – makes you think the inmates are in charge of the asylum. Side note: my friend had himself blocked from myLot Bites as well because he did not want to be associated with the threats going on there.

Auriliuse, you have the right to your opinion. You are right that abusers are a facet of life. Yes it is a discussion board. However that discussion board has guidlines and all users should be subject to the same guidlines. People should not be banned unfairly for defending themselves against those of the community that do not have to follow the same guidlines as everyone else. The subject here is fair user guidelines.

I was also deleted by myLot I was not respecting the guidelines by using a referrallink in one of my posts. I only did this in the moneymaking section nowhere else.
Lots of people seem to do it and they never get banned. The strange thing was it was a post about Apsense.
I was getting many referrals for Apsense and I believe someone in competition with me reported me.
I asked myLot why I was banned but no reply came and all my discussions were deleted.
I reopened under a new profile. I don’t like to get deleted without reason but it doesn’t affect my mood.
It could be there is a group that does this kind of behaviour, all I can say is it’s childish, not really worth your precious time.
