In less than one week I’ll be 38. The closest to 40 I get I think OMG. In two years, I’ll be 40 and will have a daughter who will be graduating high school and another child in his second year of high school. How on earth did I get here? I feel like it was just yesterday I turned 30.
It won’t be long before their both out of the house. Now technically I know I’m still young and beautiful, but it is hard to believe I’m two years from what I consider middle aged. My husband always jokes around with me about getting older because I’m two years older than him. I know that age is just a number, but now that I’m almost two years shy of 40 I’m really starting to look at my life.
For those over 40, should I be getting concerned? I need advice! Help prepare me. lol I have two years to go. Next year I’ll be 39 and holding. “Wink”

Happy early Birthday.
I’m 45 and I think this has been the best time in my life. My life seems a lot more defined and clear to me.
I will have to say that physically, I feel changes…to the better, moslty.

Well, you can consider this your early Happy Birthday from me, Rose! I figure you’re only as old as you feel, which ought to put me somewhere around 17. I’m so juvenile. LOL

No need for concern…the old saying is its all downhill after 40. But then again there’s another saying that after 40 life really begins.
I chose the latter when I turned 40 errrr 39 for infinity plus 1.

Concern unnecessary. For many of us, life gets better every year. Sure, there are limitations, but there are limitations of some kind at every age, and many of the other limitations that are life long are self-imposed. So, forget the middle age crap, just be you and love the moment. I have honestly never thought of myself as middle aged – I may have written it once or twice for effect, but never ever thought of myself as an “age”, just as living. And empty nesting just makes you feel younger, who would have thought?

It’s just a number. I’ll be 45 in a couple months. My forties so far have been fantastic!
BTW, I got married on my 40th birthday.

I’m 58. I consider myself late middle age. It hasn’t been great going from 30 to here, but you know what? It hasn’t been bad, either. And remember: Old is predominantly an emotion. Elderly? Yeah, okay. But old? Not for quite some time, thanks.

Time flows by the same for all of us so no worries
Plus you got your family and you see your kids growing up and evolving physically and as personalitites, I mean how cool is that!
Lastly, feel joy in the thought that you really like writing and you can do that forever, plus the more experienced you get your best work seems to be ahead of you. So enough with the numbers already

There is a rush of years, but I won’t ever say that’s bad. Enjoy the journey and the peaks and troughs. Your kids may leave the house but they won’t ever leave you

I’m 39 years old. I’ve been through a lot, but I work out 4 evenings a week and I feel better than I did 20 years ago! You are as young as you feel and if you take care of yourself, you will feel and look good!
