The interview meme: Interview with Rose DesRochers

April 28th, 2007 by Rose DesRochers · 3 Comments

Christine and Ian both had five interview questions for me.  They sent me my questions a few days ago and I have been a little slow answering them, but I finally completed the interview.

What do you think of teens getting tattoos?

Tattooing has become a kind of fad with teenagers. My daughter even mentioned that she wanted one. It made me wonder, did she give it thought or is it something that she wanted to do because it is the cool thing to do and everyone was getting one. Of course I told her no way.   In my opinion I don’t think teens should be getting tatoos. I think that teenagers should wait a few years. After all tatoos are for life.

What are your favorite flowers?

My favorite flowers would have to be roses, followed by carnations and then tulips.

You are having a dinner party, which 3 people would you invite and why?

When most people ask this question they imply it to famous people. Seeing how you have not implied it to famous people. I would invite an elderly person who lives alone, a trouble teen and a handicap person. I think these three people could teach one another a lot.

What is your best Blogging tip?

Involve yourself in the blogging community. You can gain a loyal readership just by offering feedback to your fellow bloggers, being helpful and getting to know them.

What do you love most about being a Mother?

Being a mom has taught me many lessons.  I think that being a mom is one of the most awarding and amazing things I have done with my life. I would not give up this job for any other. What do I love about being a mom? I love the joy and challenges that my children bring to my life.

What’s your favorite poem of all time?

My favorite poem of all times is “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost.

Finish this sentence: “I was a complete hoser this one time, eh, because I…”

Ian was this complete redneck this one time, because he…

What inspired you to start Today’s Woman?

My husband is actually the inspiration behind Today’s Woman Writing Community. I use to own a woman’s chat group/ webring and when I gave it up; Shawn registered todays-woman.net as a woman’s network to give me something to do in my spare time. After a while I decided to use it as my own personal site for graphics and my writing. After some thought it then became an online forum for men and women. Members started submitting poetry and before I knew it, the site was more geared towards writing. The rest is history and here we are.

You can instantly learn a skill you do not currently possess. What is it and why?

I would like to learn how to drive, because I’m 37 and don’t know how. Unfortunately my first experience driving a car wasn’t the greatest.

You can trade places with anyone in the world for one day. Who and why?

No one! I do not want to walk a day in anyone else’s shoes though it would be nice to spend 24 hours as CEO of Google. Seriously, I’m happy with my life so I think I’ll stay  right where I am.

Great answers. I find that interesting you don’t know how to drive, neither does my grandmother. She never has.
That’s exactly how I felt about teens and tats, what if they change their mind 15 years later.
    Thanks for answering my questions.
