I was reading a blog today that got me thinking. Hammer said, “Everyone has their breaking point. Some people want to take me to my limit. I have no clue why. They push and push like it’s a game to see how far they can go until I lose my cool and end up doing and saying things that are completely out of character for me.”
I like reading his blog because he tells it like it is. He doesn’t hold anything back. His blog post got me thinking.
Humiliation, teasing, taunting, ridiculing does not just happen offline, but it happens online too. Like Hammer pointed out in his post, everyone has their breaking point. Some people push and push until they send you over that breaking point and you wind up reacting in a way that is not normally you. Every time that they anger you into a response they get this form of satisfaction. They feel by angering you, posting allegations about your children and getting you to react that they have the power.
If you don’t react, they will try another tactic.
As most of you know I was using Garfield on my blog. I had permission to use Garfield from Paws Inc. These cyber harassers went as far as to contact Paws with complaints until Paws revoked my permission. They made allegations that I was luring children to my blog through the use of Garfield. They made statements like “It’s not Rose’s place to lure my child to her site and then fill her head with information about group masturbation.”
They were talking about the Masturbate-a-Thon article, which is on my blog.
Among comments made were remarks that they did not feel the Masturbate-a-Thon article was very appropriate for children ages 13 and 16 to be reading , as well as other content on my adult site and as a parent, they would be very upset if their children were under 18 and found the post.
My blog is not an adult blog. It addresses from time to time mature topics found in the news that I offer an opinion on.
If someone wants to start censoring my blog as an adult blog then they better start censoring Yahoo news as they also ran the article about the Masturbate-a-Thon, which is an event for those 18 and over to raise money for women’s health initiatives and HIV prevention.
I wonder just how many teens read Yahoo news when the story about the Masturbate-a-Thon first ran. Furthermore, does one really think that masturbation is that taboo a subject among teens 13 to 16 year olds? They better think again!
As for Garfield, his comics can be read on Yahoo news and as I pointed out Yahoo ran the same article that I linked to. A teen searching for Garfield could have very well been taken to Yahoo news where they could have read the article there on the Masturbate-a-Thon.
Let’s face it; they are only concerned with what is on the blog of Rose DesRochers. These types of people don’t care about the hurt and anger that they cause to another human being. They hide behind the ability to be anonymous on the internet not realizing that they are leaving this trail of bread crumbs behind them.
We know who the author is of the anonymous blog which is posting offensive comments and allegations about us in an effort to discredit us. The person did not do a very good job covering their tracks. When my husband revealed this persons identity on their blog his comment was quickly removed just moments after. They set their comments to moderation where my husband and I are no longer permitted to respond to false allegation such as my 16 ½ year old daughter supposedly had on her blog a link to the Masturbate-a-Thon article, which is a lie. They made a blog post stating that they had to remove the comment because they received a very outraged letter from one woman who a commenter posted about, when truth is the comment was removed because my husband revealed the identity of the person who thought they could create a blog and post lies to discredit us and then hide behind a false identity. Well guess what? The cat is out of the bag.
These people post lies like this about our children because they know that it upsets us and will provoke an angry response in us. They simply don’t care. They don’t have a vendetta with my children, family or friends. They have it with me and it does not matter if what they say is an allegation as long as discredits me.
My question is just when is enough, enough. How much abuse should one person be subject to? Just where does the madness in this stop?
Before you give the advice that we can contact the authorities, we did that. We were told that they would give the one person a warning, but this was a civil matter. We could take them to court, but what would we get from someone who is down right poor and have absolutely nothing? We could maybe take away their computer and then they would not be allowed to continue what they are doing, but I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to pay lawyer fees to get me a computer.
As for the person who owns the blog where all this is taking place, we do know that they own a business. I guess we have to look at the entire situation. I could certainly discuss this in greater detail, but I’ll end with saying that certain bloggers need to get more than just their hands slapped. They need to stop and take a long good look at themselves in the mirror and ask themselves if what they are doing to me and my family is really worth it.
Do you think I’ll really quit blogging about sexual topics in the news? Not! Ok, you reported my blog to Paws Inc and they revoked permission. Big deal! Yes it upset me, but that it all it did. So you made allegations about me and someone was gullible enough to believe it. Big deal! The majorities see right through your lies and see it for what it really is and that is a simple juvenile vendetta that needs to end.

Don’t let them take away your power.
Whoever they are, they are just trying to be a bully. You’d think they had better things to do. I can hardly keep up with READING blogs … where do they find the time to harrass??!!

Sorry about the harassment Rose, I know how you feel. Some people use their computer as a weapon and are that way in real life as well. It points out the problems with the lack of laws on the books dealing with computer crimes.
Slander and libel are crimes, no matter in what forum they occur. Hope this situation is resolved soon.

Rose, I am so sorry you have to deal with this childishness. It is obvious that this person or these people have nothing constructive to do with their lives and are only eaten up with bitterness and pride. You are way better than that and are conducting yourself with class and dignity. Hang in there! My prayers are with you!

It never ceases to amaze me what lengths people will go to in order to mess with peoples lives, business, and minds.
I’m sorry you and your family are having to go through something like this. You nor your family deserve any of this. Even when we know they are trolls and arses, it does hurt when someone attacks you. As a parent, I’m outraged that they have involved your children.
E-mail me the website, I would love to leave a comment or two.

Not an adult blog?!
If there’s no boobies, why do I keep coming back?
Oh, yeah. Because I like reading it.
Although some boobies would improve the general ambiance to no end.
Ian
PS: I think cyber-harassment is a crime in the US. Is your Pain-In-The-Ass an American (most Pains-In-The-Asses are, and I include myself in that)? Maybe you could still get criminal charges filed…

Ian, just for you I will include some boobies on my blog.
To answer your question one of the individuals lives in Alabama. We have spoken to authorities in that district and we were told that they would speak to the person, but unfortunately they say that it is a civil matter. There is no U.S. federal cyberstalking/harassment law. The other person lives in Nova Scotia, Canada. We are really limited to civil litigation.

Chris, thank you. I’ve done a lot of good things for a lot of people, but just Google my name and you will see what I’m up against.
