Russian spam

April 3rd, 2007 by Rose DesRochers · 3 Comments

My email account is usually good at filtering out spam. It comes in marked as “definitely spam” or “spam.” Right now our spam filter is not working, so I opened an email with the subject line “Hi from Trista.”

The email read “Hello, I am pretty russian girl, bored tonight.
would you like to chat with me and see my pics?”

I know that according to statistics every second – 28,258 internet users are viewing pornography. I wonder how many of that number actually reply to porn spam like this?

If you liked this post, why not buy me a coffee?

It is amazing the amount of spam I get. Until about 4 months ago, my hotmail emails never got spam. Now, several a day get through the filters.
Of course, the comment spam on the blog is worse. During the day it can reach about 100 spam comments an hour and it is far worse to read than any email I have gotten in 5 years.

Get Gmail, they are the best that I have ever seen when it comes to filtering spam. I have used it for 6 months and have not gotten the first spam message.
As far as how many respond to those emails. I seen a report the other day that more than 30 percent of the people that are online at any given time is searching for or looking at porn.
