Have you stopped doing Questions of the Week? This last one that I have seen is from April. Am I missing some that were later but posted somewhere else?

I hope that all is going well with you by the way. :-)

Sure kids should have chores. It not only teaches them responsibility in life but how to do the basics for when the eventually leave home and live their own lives and mum isn't their to pick up after them. Too many youngsters have no idea how to keep house or even make a basic meal.

In my view, it is important for children to do little chores around the house. It teaches them the importance of how to value things.Furthermore, this type of responsibility, installed at early age ,could make or break a person who is faced up with a difficult situation. In some way,the whole experience acts as a pillar of support to person's character building.

I have always grown up with chores and I want my children to have chores as well. It teaches responsibility and a feeling of being a part of the family.

I read an article once that assigning chores to 2-3 year olds, and making it fun like giving them a wash rag and helping mommy wipe the table, or dusting. Nothing heavy, but getting them started. I began to show my children where to put their things away in their rooms. That doesn't mean they do it all the time. Actually my son is the only one who really keeps his room picked up. My teenage daughter helps me with the dishes and unloads the dishwasher, and does her own laundry. My mother did everything for me, even when I was in college. She figured I'd have plenty of dishes to wash in my lifetime when I got married, and that I should enjoy my life. I was in for a rude awakening. My daughter really doesn't like to do chores, even if she gets an allowance. I agree with Teena, chores teach them responsibility.
