Sex Facts
Did you know?
- Sex is an instant cure for mild depression. It releases endorphins into the bloodstream, producing a sense of euphoria and leaving you with a feeling of well-being
- A lot of lovemaking can unblock a stuffy nose. Sex is a natural antihistamine. It can help combat asthma and hay fever.
- The earliest known illustration of a man using a condom during sexual intercourse is painted on the wall of a cave in France. It is dated between 12,000 and 15,000 years old.
- The first condoms in the US were made from vulcanized rubber in the 1870s. They were expensive and annoyingly thick and meant to be reused.
- In Texas it is illegal to sell a vibrator as anything other than a ‘novelty’.
- Only 17% of women are likely to have an orgasm during sex (Durex Global Sex Survey).
- According to a survey of sex shop owners, cherry is the most popular flavor of edible underwear.
- A man will ejaculate approximately 18 quarts of semen, containing half a trillion sperm, in his lifetime.
- 48% of 9,100 men polled on an online dating site say they too have faked an orgasm.
- In ancient Greece and Rome dildos were carved out of everything they could get their hands on from wood, glass, leather, gold, silver and even animal horns.
- The left testicle usually hangs lower than the right for right-handed men. The opposite is true for lefties.
- A female orgasm is a powerful painkiller (because of the release of endorphins), so headaches are in fact a bad excuse not to have sex.
- John Harvey Kellogg invented corn flakes as a meatless breakfast food, designed to reduce the sexual drive.

Interesting!
Though, I know for a fact that it won’t do a thing for a migraine.

Crystal, I have to disagree with you there and I speak from personal experience. According to research too, sex may alleviate the pain of migraine in some patients. In fact the study found migraine sufferers report higher levels of sexual desire than people with other types of headaches. There you have it. Sex may actually provide some relief for migraine sufferers.

Love your blog, Rose. Interesting bits of info esp the last bit. All very educational too.
Sex or chocolate? One burns and the other adds, I’d choose the former.

Rose, I laughed out loud when I saw your subject this morning because I was laying in bed last night thinking that I would like to do a post on “sex.” I don’t know exaclty how I’m going to do that since my blog is sort of specialized…in a way. But sexuality is certainly a huge part in being a whole, thriving human being. I’ll give it some more thought.
I like your thoughts and info here. Great job! I like your blog because you do bring so many different things to the table. It’s great checking in at least once a day!

Great informative, funny TT! I have in the past used sex to get rid of headaches. It works pretty well sometimes. Now I need to go ask Prince Charming how it is possible for him to fake an orgasm.

I knew the headache, but not the antihistamine. . . Another tool in the arsenal of detectives, I feel a story forming. Yeah, ya’ll can write one, too!
Another great list, Rose.

Interesting list. I’ve never used the “I have a headache” excuse - even when I did, but I don’t remember if it got rid of it or not.

I don’t know about the antihistamine thing. Where did you gather all this info? It made for very interesting reading. My TT is also posted.
