I’ve found that my choice of role models has changed over time. I guess it’s quite natural for our parents to be role models when we are younger; however, distance and time has led me to take up new role models for different stages of my life.
But then I wonder whether we really CHOOSE our role models…

I don’t think of any one person as a role model, although my parents set the bar for me on basic standards of life when I was little. Overall, I see role models for some part of my life in everyone. Though some are really the antithesis of role models, I learn from them what not to do, many times those people are as equal in importance to me as a true role model.

Great question! I’ve always looked up to my mother, as she’s always showed unconditional love to me and my brother. She’s a very patient woman who never speaks bad about anyone. I’ve learned to accept people for who they are, and what I really need to learn from her is to be happy with what I have. I’m learning now that I’m not working and not able to afford as much as I did when I had a paycheck, but she was a SAHM for over 20 years, and I’ve only been home for 2. She’s always been my inspiration!
