Photo Hunters – Be Prepared to Cringe

February 3rd, 2007 by Rose DesRochers · 30 Comments

The topic of this weeks photo hunt is gross. Be prepared to cringe at the photo I’m sharing.

Gross Arm

This is a picture of my husband’s arm, three days after surgery last April. My husband underwent surgery in an attempt to relieve numbness in all four of his fingers and regain mobility and feeling to his hand. Part of the feeling came back, but he will never regain full feeling and half of his hand stays cold all the time. I think this looks gross.

If you liked this post, why not buy me a coffee?

 I’m sorry your husband had to have that surgery – it looks very painful!

Yeah, that’s gross, Rose. But it doesn’t gross me out as much as the various pictures of animal poo posted around the net. Or the bugs.

Human stuff doesn’t bother me as much, for some reason.

I’m sorry about your hubby’s surgical result. I would think that having your hand feel partially cold all the time would be frustrating and disheartening after going through that surgery. I have carpal tunnel and my fingers are always numb, so I can empathize somewhat.

    My photo is posted!

I’d say it looks more painful than gross but it does look gross. I think all surgery scars are. I hope he will regain it all back. Miracles do happen you know.

Definitely gross – and painful! I have a hard time with human injury – I can never watch any of those surgery shows, they freak me out.

Good choice of a photo for the theme, but I’m sorry to hear that the surgery didn’t help to bring back all of the feeling in his arm.

You might want to save that one to use again should we ever have a theme for pain!

Looks gross and painful. I had surgery on my ankle that left some nerve damage. It sometimes feels like I have water running down the side of my foot.

Oh, my that looks awful. Did he have some injury with swelling? I know that can be hard to deal with. Please say it has healed up by now…. . I do think this is just about the most gross picture I’ve seen today. You were right to prepare us to cringe.

That is definitely a gross pic. I’m sorry to hear that the surgery didn’t completely fix the problem. Hopefully with time, it will heal.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend,
    Betty :)

Wow, that’s pretty gross. I haven’t done this weeks, because, I really don’t have anything gross to post. My mind is blank.

    But seriously that’s pretty gross.

Ow! I know that much have been so painful for your husband. I’m sorry he still doesn’t have the feeling in his hands or fingers. And yes, it is not a very pretty sight. I had CTS or a pinched nerve in my arm for a few days and I remember how numb and painful it was. Did he have to do some form of physical therapy and did that help a little?
Hope you are having a nice weekend.

 Yikes, that looks painful! I almost posted the same type of photo but thought it would gross out too many people so opted for a gross flower instead. Take care. Thanks for stopping by.

I am going to enjoy reading your blog, Rose. I write songs and am sort of a wanna be poet and get to do some of that in my blog. (My post of Feb. 7th on Les Ballets Jazz Montreal was kind of poetic I thought.) I’d like to take part in Funny Monday but at present can barely make it through the whole blogroll to comment on Photo Huntesrs so best not take on a new “project.” “See” you soon. Jannie Oh, again, the sight of your husband’s arm would be gross to my husband but for some reason things like that don’t bother me at all. Should’ve been a nurse or doctor?

I am going for that same surgery. They are moving my Alner nerve to try and get feeling back to my pinky and 2nd last finger. Did the operation for your husband have any success. How long of recovery did it take and how long off of work.

Doug, he never got feeling back in his arm.

It takes 6 weeks to recover. Three weeks off work, but you still can’t lift anything.
