    Hi Rose,
I see the concept of “perfect” in a different light. A man or woman can be perfect with all their faults because they are the lessons we face in order to grow.
To be happy in relationship, first we have to be happy in ourselves. That is when the Universe will bring the right person along…or not….it doesnt matter so long as you are happy!
Please take a look at my site..I have some tips for enhancing your outlook.

Hello Lisa, thank you for dropping by. We obviously have different opinions on the topic of perfection. I don’t believe anyone is perfect. I don’t think perfection is possible.

At thirty-seven I have found what I’m looking for. I found him early in life and we could not be happier together. Is he perfect, no, because perfection in my opinion does not exist and I’m not perfect.

I have a perfectionist child who strives everyday not to fail. Failure is a part of life. Nothing is guaranteed. If you cannot accept failure then you are setting yourself up for a great deal of heartache in life. No one is perfect and the sooner that we accept that I believe the happier we are.

I still believe in fairytale endings, Rose. Incurable.

I loved being single. I had six years between husbands. When Gord and met, I fought it because I like my life as it was.

From When Harry Met Sally: “All I’m saying is that somewhere out there is the man you are supposed to marry. And if you don’t get him first, somebody else will, and you’ll have to spend the rest of your life knowing that somebody else is married to your husband.”

Teena I can only imagine that it must of been difficult for you to let someone in your life after getting comfortable with being single.

Ian, that’s an old movie. I gather you read the article?

Bernard, you just go on believing.

I totally agree with you Rose. Women have got to let go of fairy tale ideals because positioning our happiness on someone else is a formula for disappointment. I think it’s best to live life honestly and freely — and when something isn’t ideal, face the issue with courage and dignity. The best thing we can do is to learn to be our own best friends, faults and all.

    Hi Rose,
Your article is almost exactly what my Grandmother told my sister and I our entire lives until she passed.

She said “Fairy tales, are just that…tales. Prince Charming will never ride up on a white horse, so you’d better take riding lessons. You must have a sense of self. Love is out there, and a good, strong marraige (relationship) is work! It takes lots of communication, laughing at ones self and forgivness and acceptance for not being “perfect. ”

To her, only one perfect being roamed the earth, and that was a very long time ago for a very specific purpose. However, without getting off topic and into religion…

I agree that you both were/are smart women. No one is perfect, and a good relationship takes work from both people…period.

    Have a wonderful Sunday.

Julia, mind telling that to my daughter. She won’t listen to Mom. lol

Tisha it sounds like you have a keeper.

Chris, my condolences. Your grandmother was a wise woman and the advice she gave was beautiful.

I don’t think many wait for Mr perfect. Many find Mr Terrible and then have to get rid of him and start over. I’ve been married to the same woman for going on 16 years and neither of us are perfect but perfect for each other.

I will always be a romantic at heart. I may not have found the perfect man in hubby but he sure is enough for me. Actually, I have met the perfect man and I was bored with him. Lol!

Really interesting article Rose :) Rock on.

I have kind of mixed feelings about this…personal circumstances has lead me to beleive that a girlfriend would bring some happyness n stability to my life…but i am not naive to think that there is a “perfect women” out there for me.

Anyway, kudos! You tell those prince charming wannabes where they stand :P
