  I’ve had a “do” like that before…. very wild… I always envied those whose hair fell in the lucious ringlets. Even a body wave put mine over the top curly.

  That’s awesome! My hair was just as big (and totally fried). Aussie Sprunch was by best friend. I don’t think I could get my hair that big now if I tried all day. It used to take my 2 hours. Did you have the sausage curl bangs in front too?

  I remember asking my daughter one night as she prepared to go out for the night wearing a hair style much like the one in your picture, what type of perfume she was wearing.
  She answered with a grin, “it’s hairspray dad.”

  OMG, that is hysterical! Have you seen Oprah’s 20th Anniversary DVD collection? It really is a fun compilation of some of her most fascinating guests, topics covered, etc. She included a piece about fashion and the clips from her early days on the air are so funny . . . she had some amazingly bad big 80’s hair. And the jewelry was no better! Your photos reminded me of those clips. So see? You’re in good company.

  And no, that does not mean that you will be seeing photos of me with my 80’s combination hair: Not only was it permed, it was frosted. Oi. When it fell in the sink every morning, I decided to cut it all off and start over with virgin hair. The look on my husband’s face when I came home practically buzzed was quite interesting.

  Jealous, I say. My hair was so fine it was not worth the trouble to get it that wild, I had to settle for a curly perm to get even close to wild.

  Too funny! I remember having long, stick-straight hair in the days of big hair. My mother wouldn’t allow me to get a perm, so I used to hot roll it every morning just to give my hair a little body and then I did the chicken-wing bang thing. My bangs had more hairspray than hair. I wore a lot of makeup back then, too. Yuck!
