It seems that some people go through more pain and suffering than others. Often times we find ourselves asking what there is to be thankful for.
Do we really believe that there is nothing in life to be thankful for?
13 Things that I’m Thankful for
- I’m thankful for the five weeks I had with my baby girl, even though her life was taken to soon.
- I’m thankful for the special bond I had with my mother.
- I’m thankful for my children who have given me a reason to live.
- I am thankful for my husband, Shawn, who is supportive, caring and loving.
- I’m thankful that in the midst of my tears there are those who care enough about me to try to get a smile.
- I’m thankful that I have the strength to meet each challenge that I’m faced with.
- I’m thankful that I had parents who cared.
- I’m thankful for each sweet memory.
- I’m thankful for tears. I cannot imagine what it would be like to be unfeeling.
- I’m thankful that I found God when all faith in him was gone.
- I’m thankful that my son still asks me to tuck him into bed at night.
- I’m thankful for lessons learned.
- I’m thankful for all that life has given me.
Smile, you’re happier than you think, because there is much in life to be thankful for.
Happy Thursday!

Wow. Such a poignant and touching list.
What am I thankful for? Hmmm….
I am thankful that when I fail to remember all that I SHOULD be thankful for (as often happens), it all comes flooding back when I look at my happy, healthy family.

As Laura wrote, it was a fantastic reminder.. to not complain and feel like you`ve got nothing to smile about, but stop a sec.and think about everything you got.
I am thankful for that i`ve realised that all my illness&diseases will make me a even better doctor (that is what i want to become, a dr.), then im able to understand my patients much better.
I am thankful for having food on the table every day, a house with roof and a bed to sleep in, cause that is not a matter of course.

I’m thankful that amidst your tears you have found the gift of thankfulness. Too many people move from tears to desperation or cynicism.
I’m also thankful for Apple Computers and any product that starts with “i”. I’m thankful for my children’s health as I watch and help my friend struggle with a child in the hospital. (See my blog to send Casey a message…she gets such a kick out of it when I show up with the great notes, stories and photos that my blog readers have sent from all over!) I’m thankful for the incredible privilege of living the life I’m living…no worries about putting food on the table, no one discriminating against me, no daily fears for my family’s safety and the incredible friends who complete my life. And I’m thankful for my dog, Toby!

We all have so much to be thankful for, but it seems we rather complain, bitch and moan about the things we don’t have… I’m trying so hard not to be hypocritic about this, but I too often find myself bitching and nagging instead of being just thankful.
There’s so much in this world that we should consider little miracles, and that we should thank God for…
Great list!

Great post Rose! it’s great because of it’s subject matter and because of your list.
I try to do this on a daily basis, whether it be something as simple as drinking a cup of coffee, getting out of bed or watching the birds drink water from the birdbath.
Gratitude has healing power. I especially try to mentally list things I am grateful for when I’m feeling down, it’s a good pick me upper which helps me not focus on problems and focus on the things I have to be grateful for.
Thank you

Beautiful list.. God gives and takes away.. but to be thankful to every single joy he has given is indeed the biggest gratitude that we can show to Him.

Wonderful post. Sometimes we get so caught up in what’s easier - complaining - that we miss the forest for the trees.
I’m thankful for the time I spent caring for my father as he was dying. I’m so glad I work for a company that allowed me to leave work behind and take the time I needed at the end of his life.
