This is my first time taking part in Thursday Thirteen. Every Thursday look for a list of thirteen things. This week I’ll be sharing 13 things my Mother taught me.

1. My mother taught me about time - I learned that time can be your friend or it can be your enemy.
2. My mother taught me about death- I learned that death was passing from one room into the next.
3. My mother taught me about joy. She showed me that even in the midst of sorrow there can be joy.
4. My mother taught me acceptance - That I must accept the things that I cannot change.
5. My mother taught me how to fight. Life is a battle and sometimes you have to fight.
6. My mother taught me about survival. She showed me how to survive during the storm.
7. Rainbows- My mother taught me about rainbows. She showed me after each storm there was a rainbow.
8. Prayer- My mother taught me how to pray.
9. Life- My mother showed me how important life was and not to take those you love for granite.
10. Fear- My mother taught me about fear, that one day I would fear losing her.
11. Receiving- My mother taught me how to receive God into my heart.
12. Giving- My mother taught me about giving. It is because of her I signed my organ donor card.
13. Circle of Life- My mother taught me about the circle of life. My mother gave me life, the greatest gift of all and I gave life to my children and someday they will give life and the circle repeats itself.

I wanted to thank all those who have responded to my first Thursday Thirteen and for the wonderful honor of being chosen featured blog.
I’m glad that some of you were touched by my post.
To those who have commented about how wonderful my Mother must be, or that she is a wise woman or how lucky I am to have such a Mother. You are correct she was a wonderful lady and a wise woman and I was truly blessed.
Sadly my Mother passed away Dec 2nd 2001.
Suburban Mum , it is my wish to be only half as great as my Mom was too.
Thank you once again for all your thoughtful comments.

First, thank you for the quote and your kind words. Now… congrats on being chosen featured TT blog on your first blog. That also happened to me. Your blog about your mother and mine about my father reminds me of the adage about being your mother’s daughter and being my father’s son. Your post was very well put. Congrats Again.

Can I just say I am very pleased that you have started participating in Thursday 13? I AM! This is my fifth week and I am very glad to make your acquaintance.
I am just getting caught up on the Thursday 13’s today. Fortunately the husband had to work and I have the entire day to accomplish this
My Thursday 13 is (still) up. I would love some help from you and yours on item #1. I got an update today … and … I’m tired of losing mama’s out of this world and maybe we can help do something about this one.
I look forward to checking your list again next week and really getting to know you and your blog better.
Have fun,
pam

Dear Rose,
I’m really sorry for my mistake. I lost my mum last year, so I know how it feels…
