Proper Blogging Etiquette

Cite your Source
I think that I have a pretty good track record for properly citing the source in my blog posts. I believe that if you get an idea from a blog then you should always make an attempt to link to that person’s blog. It is the proper thing to do.

I feel that it is poor etiquette not to cite your source.

CyberJournalist.net has created a model Bloggers’ Code of Ethics.

As a fellow blogger I cannot tell you what to do, however I will ask you to do this. If you are blogging about a topic that you read on another blog, please be kind to mention that blog in your post and link to them.

If you liked this post, why not buy me a coffee?

    Great thinking!

But all great ideas originate at garfield, the cat… :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Great point about citing others. I have to remember to do that, it is not always an automatic for me.

    Cheers,

    Scott

I cite as much as I can! I’m too scared to get in trouble….

I’ve had someone copy my template and exact words. So annoying.

Claire, personal support map? Oh that, I’ve not yet had time to do it, but I will.

    Seamus, thanks!

Erika, content theft is a growing problem. Sorry to hear that you were a victim.

Scott, my pleasure. I enjoyed my visit.

    Richie, I’m there now!

Hi Rose! Thanks for your comment at PP. I have also seen your blog several times before, and am amazed by what you have done here. I think your call on blogging etiquette is overall, right on. For a political blog lime mine, citing sources is especially important.
