There has been somewhat a debate in the blogosphere whether or not those using Blogger should host their photos at Blogger.
One huge problem with hosting your pictures at Blogger is that Google’s ‘Blogger’ service never deletes pictures. Even after you delete your photo from your blog it is still available on the net at photos1.blogger.com.
Here is a site-search for photos1.blogger.com on Google Images. (Please note that the search returns some adult photos so you might want to have your search settings on strict filtering.
I cannot take full credit for this post as I first read about this on searchenginejournal.com and techhash.com even did what they called the ‘The Blogger Photos Experiment.’

A few people mentioned they had trouble uploading pics from their computer via the blogger option. I mentioned I sometimes just href them from the web (small pics only), or I put them on my site then reference from there. I don’t always need them to open bigger in a new window, usually they are just a brief visual reference of the topic.
I imagine now that ppl are putting videos on their blogs, the servers will eventually fill up, esp if things are not getting deleated. Since it’s free, I wonder how long it will continue.

Ah, but you’re assuming we don’t WANT to find adult images. LOL

Actually, now that I’m going through page after page of images, it’s kind of fascinating to see the kind of things people are posting on their blogs, made much more interesting without the commentary surrounding them.
You could make up story after story about these images.

Good, interesting post. It is definately interesting to know that even if you delete your photo it is out their in Cyberspace forever. I don’t know if it is possible, or if it is possible how hard to remove your post from Google Images. This is definately something to keep in mind though before placing a picture in ones blogger.com blog. I have pretty much decided that I am going to leave a picture of myself in my blog. I am certainly not “eye candy” sp I don’t have to worry about my picture being downloaded and posted by a bunch of perverts anyways.:-) Thanks for leaving a comment at myTrying To Make Money Online blog by the way. I really appreciate your comment. It is always good to know that there are actually real people reading my blog entries.

Tom, I’m not sure how this is relevant to my post but thanks for commenting.
Ian, now I was warning my readership that may not want to find adult images and yes the images could make some interesting stories. LOL
Chris not a problem. No, but someone could edit your picture as a parody? LOL

The blogger option works better than using “hello”. I prefer to use my images on Flickr by linking. But I do need a 12 step program for flickr. . . thanks for the link on the search.
And thanks again for your help.

I have never tried hosting my images with blogger. I always use photobucket but they did give me a heart attack once when they went down and I thought all my images were lost.

Hi Rose, how are you doing?
I opted to run my blog on a rented server just so as to have complete control over such matters but, if I was using Blogger – and which the highlighted issue in mind – I would host my pictures else where certainly.

That’s why I never created a personal blog with Blogger. Been knowing about this for ages.
