Photo Fraud in Lebanon

August 23rd, 2006 by Rose DesRochers · 2 Comments

Aish  has put together a video of what some are calling biased journalism. The video shows us the inside story of the fraudulent ‘news’ photos coming out of South Lebanon, which was unconvered two weeks ago by bloggers Charles Johnson of littlegreenfootballs.com and the owner of the My Pet Jawa web log.

Charles Johnson says, “This Reuters photograph shows blatant evidence of manipulation. Notice the repeating patterns in the smoke; this is almost certainly caused by using the Photoshop “clone” tool to add more smoke to the image.”

My Pet Jawa found a second photo, which had been altered by photographer Adnan Hajj. My Pet Jawa says,” Another photo by Reuters photographer Adnan Hajj has been shown to be doctored. The photo, which proports to be of an Israeli F-16 firing missiles on Lebanon has been doctored to make the photo seem more sensational.”

Echoing comments made by Steve Yuhas a radio talk show host on KOGO AM 600 in southern California. “Reuters: If you can’t trust their pictures; how can you trust their reporting?” Very well said Steve!

More of this news story can be read at Blogger’s sharp eye saw photo fraud, Reuters: If you can’t trust their pictures; how can you trust their reporting and New York Times ‘used fraudulent photo’.

Can they get away with that? That’s crazy.

More to the point is how many times have they got away with it in the past?
