A Word of Advice from Rose DesRochers: Copyright information

Do you post articles from news outlets to your blog or website in their full entirety? If you answered yes, are you aware that you are violating copyright laws?
A word of advice: You may want to reconsider not posting those articles in their full entirety.
Posting the first paragraph, first few sentences, or a quote from the article is fine, but posting the full article without permission from the source is a copyright violation.
I recommend quoting a few lines and then linking to the article with a read more.

I used to always just paste the whole article. I never claimed they were mine, but never gave thought to copyright. But it’s just not the right thing to do so I’ve stopped it now before I end up in court. It does look better if you only quote a paragraph or two at most then link to the full thing.
And I only started doing it properly after discussing it with Rose a while back and realising she is correct. This is very good advice.
