On July 12, 2005 Canadian Blogger Kyle MacDonald set out to get a house with one red paper clip. He had hope to trade his paperclip up step by step until he got a house. Well today Kyle Macdonald made his 14th trade.
He exchanged his 13th trade, which was a role in a Hollywood movie for a three-bedroom house in Kipling, Saskatchewan. Kyle has done what he set out to do exactly one year ago today and that was to get a house by trading a red paper clip. Congratulations Kyle, you did it.
Hmm, I wonder if Kyle will trade me that three-bedroom house in Kipling Saskatchwan for a red paperclip?
Probably not, but you cannot blame a girl for trying.
If you liked this post, why not buy me a coffee?

My local paper ran a story on him about a month or two ago, and I thought the whole thing was really neat. Good for him for finally getting his house.
Makes me wonder what I could get for my thumbtack…
;o)

It shows what a little good old American, sorry Canadian, Ingenuity will do for you!
His success reminded me of Karen Bosnak, the NY City girl who years ago had accumulated @$20,000 in debt. She started a website asking for donations to pay it down, which she says she finally did.
I did a quick Google search for an update and evidently she has leveraged her success into something greater. http://www.savekaryn.com/AboutSaveKaryn.htm
It will be interesting t see what the future holds for Kyle.
