I apologize for my absence.The last few days have been really hectic, but great fun. Yesterday my daughter turned 16. Thank you to those who commented and wished her a happy birthday.

It turned out to be a lovely birthday,even though I wasn’t feeling too well. She rented two movies last night and I couldn’t stay awake for either. But, my son had woke me up early, so I could go get my daughter roses before she woke up. We were lucky that it didn’t rain, as they were calling for showers.

All in all, it was a long day. But you only turn 16 once. She’s going to have her sweet 16 birthday party in August after we move to our new house.

I do have to take a small extended absence from the blogosphere as this week is the Belleville Waterfront and Ethnic Festival. We normally avoid the “waterfront” festival like the plague.

The event has sadly become larger and more important in Belleville than Canada Day. We do however go watch three days of ‘ Belleville Idle’, which is much like Canadian idle.

There are three age groups and one winner is chosen from each age group. Today 13 contestants competed in the 11-15 age group. Tomorrow the waterfront festival kicks off with a parade at seven. We’ll be going to watch the final contestants compete in the afternoon and then to the seven’ 0 clock parade.

This weekend I plan to do some major packing. Monday, I’m off to see a out of town Rheumatologist. Try not to miss me too much during my absence.
