Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.

As you travel around the Internet, you’ll find many forwards, poems and chain letters with author unknown. All these things have an author, but somewhere during circulation the authors name gets removed.

If you Google ‘Rules to Date my Daughter’ you will find tons of pages. Some pages even contain a printable version. However, one thing that they don’t contain is an author’s name.

W. Bruce Cameron is the original author of ‘Rules to Date My Daughter.’ W. Bruce Cameron writes an award winning column, which can be read at wbrucecameron.com. One of his most famous columns is ‘8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter’, which he wrote in 1998.

W. Bruce Cameron’s “8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter” was snapped up by Disney and co-developed as both a feature film and a TV show. The TV show was a hit and the screenplay Mr. Cameron wrote was moving forward until the tragic death of John Ritter led Disney to reconsider.

If you haven’t already, I suggest you go read ‘8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter

I don’t know about you, but I’m very fond of rule 2, 4 and 8.

I see that all the time on blogs, quoting a great poem, article, or the myterious Meme no one knows who made up.

How hard is it to give the author credit?!!!

Hello Chelle, well the show is based on the book. I guess I should have made that clearer. Try http://www.todays-woman.net/article1324.html and if that doesn’t work, the article can be read on the front page of todays-woman.net .

Matt, I have no idea why you are getting an error. Go to the front page of Todays-woman.net and scroll part way down the page or it can be read here. http://www.wbrucecameron.com/columns/8rules.htm

Thanks so much! This essay really changed my life, it became a book, it helped me get syndicated, it got me into writing television and screenplays… most of it is probably luck, but I know from the countless letters I’ve received that it really touched a nerve with some people! — Bruce
