Keeping Children and Teens Safe Online: Net Predators
June 9th, 2006 by Rose DesRochers · 4 Comments

You may have noticed the new link in my navigation bar under important websites.
The Alberta government is tackling internet luring with the launch of a new website weron2u.ca, which includes information on safety tips, predator tactics, profile of a pervert and true stories from children themselves who have been propositioned by a predator online. If you’re a parent I encourage you to visit this website with your kids. Children can even download icons like the one above for their profile & blogs.

It’s nice to have web site like this to know most of the possible scenarios an online predator can do with safety tips to avoid falling prey into one.

Hello,
I just thout that I would let you know that i visited the “weron2u.ca” website, and I think that it is AMAZING! It is really easy to navigate and had alot of useful information. I really like how it is directed towards teens and I really liked it over all. I really reccommend it to any parent who wants to make their children and teens aware of the dangers of going online.

Thank you J.S for commenting. Commercials promoting “weron2u.ca” are running in Cineplex Odeon Theatres in Alberta. I couldn’t believe all the stories of internet luring surrounding Nexopia . Until yesterday, I didn’t know Nexopia existed. Today, I was reading about a RCMP officer accused of trying to lure children from Nexopia. In November 2005, 4 teens from Edmonton were arrested for plotting a gang-related murder on Nexopia.
nepspeed82, I agree that it is.
